Toshiba unveils Portégé M780


Toshiba recently unveiled a couple of devices including the Portégé M780. Also unveiled were the multitouch Satellite Pro U500 and T110. The Portégé M780 and the Satellite Pro U500 both work on Windows 7 Professional. They also feature Toshiba’s touch-ready ReelTime and Bulletin Board applications. These applications are said to be information organization applications with a visual bent.
The Portégé M780 is targeted for business use as it has been made for deployment and management while the Satellite Pro U500 will be good for educational purposes. Toshiba noted that both of these models have in fact been successfully tested and used in educational environments.
The Toshiba Portégé M780 features Intel Core processors, DDR3 memory, an eSATA/USB combo port with Sleep and Charge. It also has a 12.1-inch LED backlit display. This model will be sold at $1,279. The Toshiba Satellite Pro U500 also features Intel Core chips, integrated Intel GMA graphics, an eSATA/USB Combo port with Sleep and Charge, hard drive impact sensor, HDMI port and built-in webcam with face recognition. This one comes with a fingerprint-resistant multi-touch display. It will be available at $949.
